The December issue of ESSI's Orbitwise newsletter – a round-up of general space sustainability news from around the world – has been published. It features news of the world’s first wooden satellite being launched into space, a new space sustainability research initiative between Saudi Arabia and Brazil, and a collaboration between ESA and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.
Elsewhere, Artemis Accords signatories gathered for a high-level meeting at IAC2024, the UK and New Zealand space agencies Agency signed a blueprint for satellite removal and servicing missions, and NASA awarded Starfish Space a contract for the SSPICY orbital debris inspection mission.
